Tara Guerard Chooses Dunes and Duchess for Major Charleston Wedding!
Here at Dunes and Duchess we sometimes have to pinch ourselves. Since we opened for business in August 2010 we have met and worked with so many absolutely amazing people. We’re talking people with tremendous talent and vision. One of those people is Tara Guérard, owner of Tara Guérard Soiree, one of the most creative event planners on the East Coast. Her work has been featured in Town & Country, Southern Living, Martha Stewart Weddings, Food & Wine, Traditional Home, you name it. Here are some scenes from Tara’s work.
So you can imagine how over-the-moon Dunes and I were when Tara approached us at the New York International Gift Fair about using 30 of our single spindle limed oak lamps with burlap shades for a huge Charleston wedding. All of the lamps were turned here in the U.S. and personally hand limed by me and Dunes (while I was watching March Madness). Then Dunes assembled each of the lamps, I signed and dated the bottom of each, and packed them as if they were Murano glass.
We hope we’ll get to see what wonderful use Tara puts to our lamps and we wish all the best to the Charleston bride! xoduchy

One of my favorite style books is Tara’s “Southern Weddings”…..she is a pioneer in stylish, fabulous, memorable occassions. Oh, to be one of her brides!!!
Love that she is using your lamps!
