Dunes and Duchess in NYC!

The New York International Gift Fair, affectionately known as NYIGF has got to be the biggest most whirlwind get together of like-minded design people we’ve ever known. For us, it’s a chance to debut our new collection, meet new vendors, and connect with people in the media. We love visiting with everyone!

FINALLY I get to meet stylist and lifestyle guru (and Rue La La editor) Eddie Ross. Seriously, like I can’t believe our paths have not crossed earlier than this. And who knew he was so tall!

By the way, that’s our new chandelier hanging above our heads.

You might have seen the online lovefest that followed the reveal of interior design team Mabley Handler’s 50 Shades of Blue room at the Hamptons Showhouse last summer. It was seriously the hottest thing on Twitter/Instagram/Pinterest/Facebook for months.

Jennifer Mabley and Austin Handler, shown here with Dunes and me, used our Commodore of the Yacht Club Blue Candelabras on the dining table under a Michelle Hatch NY custom chandelier. They are crazy talented.

Speaking of amazing designers, Bradley Clifford stopped by to visit the next day. We are so excited to work with him! Not only is he just the nicest person ever, he’s got a great eye.

Country Living editors Jami Suspic and Natalie Warady and I all piled onto our Lakehouse Chair for a little photo op. Do not ask me why I’ve turned my head like that. Surely I was having a neck spasm. Those two had me laughing to hard I’m sure it’s what caused the injury.

Interior designer Michelle Morgan Harrison and I had our photo op highjacked by some random guy who wanted to be in it with us. Oh well, it was fun. Look for Michelle’s work on the current cover of New England Home Connecticut.

As you’ll remember from our Atlanta Gift Show post, we had a great guy dressed in our Palm Beach Darling stop by to see us.

Here is the New York version.

My gawd we love Elaine Griffin. Interior designer, author, TV personality and budding comedienne, Elaine does and knows it all. She styled me for this photo.

Dunes has never been happier than when he was stuck between me and stylist Anna Molvik. When Dunes is shooting for magazines (his alter ego is Michael Partenio), Anna is one of his favorite stylists to work with.

We found out some amazing news from Nicole Gibbons at the show. The interior designer and author of the blog So Haute is now working as a full-time designer, quitting her day job only recently. You go, Girl!

We loved catching up with stylist and designer Raina Kattelson and New York Design Guy Tyler Wisler who you probably know from HGTV’s Design Star. These people are so cool I’m going to have to go to bed and pull the covers over my head now.

What was new at the show? Well, Dunes has figured out how to make our Giant Glass Hurricanes in quantity so that they don’t cost as much as a used Fiat. We’re thrilled to be shipping them to the Bahamas, Texas, South Carolina and Georgia. They are going to rock your next event or dinner party.

Here are our Chappy Console in Oyster Roast, our Four-Arm Candelabra in International Lifesaving Orange, the Four-Arm Candelabra Lamp and the Moderne Candelbra in White. Our Double Rachel Sconces are above and on the floor is a Two-Arm Candelabra in Swedish Gray.

I love our new Captain’s Console table, our first large pedestal table.

After the show ended it was all about clean up and trying to figure out how to get through the mess!

This is the last picture I took in New York. It was about 1:45 a.m. and Dunes and I were exhausted. I loved how our Lakehouse Chair looked illuminated by the West Side Highway lights with the city in the background. Thanks for a great show, New York!
